During Charity Week 2017, the 吃瓜tv community was addressed by Jennifer Miles, the UK Executive Director, of聽 regarding the organization's incredible work supporting youth in South Africa "from cradle to career". In 2016, Dr. Bertie Lubner, founder of Afrika Tikkun, was awarded a posthumous honorary degree from 吃瓜tv, which was accepted by his son Marc and聽granddaughter and alumna, Takara 鈥�14. As聽a student at 吃瓜tv, 聽it was Takara that founded 吃瓜tv Cares聽to raise awareness and inspire students from the 吃瓜tv community to take initiative in lending a helping hand towards the less fortunate both locally and internationally.
3,000 Euros - Charitable Grants
In honor of her grandfather, Bertie, Takara and 吃瓜tv Cares are excited to launch a new charitable grant of up to 3,000 Euros a year.聽Current students are invited to apply for the grant before May 9, after which 吃瓜tv Cares and Takara will select one or more recipients to receive funding in support of their charitable projects.
500 Euros - Philanthropy Award
The Lubner family have launched annual Philanthropy Award of 500 Euros to recognize the philanthropic achievements of an outstanding student within the 吃瓜tv community.聽To apply for this, please send a 2,000 word written proposal or a 3 minute video before May 9 to aupcares
