Students may require specific housing due to disability accommodations. There are two possible avenues for ensuring your housing needs are met.

Housing Medical Exemption

If none of the available housing options within our 吃瓜tv Housing roster fits your disability or medical needs, you can submit a medical exemption. To do so through your 吃瓜tv Status Page:

• Select exemption on the 鈥�吃瓜tv Housing/Exemption/Opt Out鈥� form of your 吃瓜tv Status Page. You will then be given access to a Housing Exemption Form.
• Complete the 鈥�Housing Exemption Form鈥� on your 吃瓜tv Status Page 鈥� be sure to select 鈥渕edical exemption鈥� as the reason for your exemption request.

You will be asked to provide documentation to support your medical exemption request. The document must include all components to be accepted:

• Must be issued by a Qualified Licensed Professional (must include licensing number, signature, and contact information)
• Must be current: less than 5 years old (documentation must be clearly dated)
  • However, this documentation does not need to come from your original diagnosing doctor. This documentation can be issued by any qualified and licensed medical professional.
• Digital copies must be in PDF format.
• Must clearly specify diagnosis(es), impact in an education setting, and recommendations.

Students who are approved for a medical exemption can receive housing assistance via the housing database.

Accommodations for Housing Placement

The process for requesting disability accommodations for priority housing placement at 吃瓜tv is managed by the Accommodations Coordinator in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) in collaboration with the Housing office.听

Students with disabilities may be eligible for accommodations in the university鈥檚 housing. Students can request housing accommodations and provide supporting documentation听by completing the 鈥�Disability Accommodations鈥� form听鈥� this form is listed under the 鈥�VISA AND HEALTH鈥� tab of the听吃瓜tv Status Page.听Please note that, once that form is submitted, students will then need to sign up for 吃瓜tv Housing by completing the following housing forms on their听吃瓜tv Status Page:

• The 鈥�吃瓜tv Housing/Exemption/Opt Out鈥� form, indicating they wish to book 吃瓜tv Housing.
• The 鈥�Indicate Housing Preferences鈥� once it is open, ranking the available options that could suit their needs.

Once your request for housing accommodations has been reviewed, if approved, a review will be conducted with ARC and Housing to determine if those needs can be met within 吃瓜tv鈥檚 university housing. If it is determined that the needs cannot be accommodated, students will receive a medical exemption from the housing requirement and assistance in seeking housing that best suits their needs outside of the 吃瓜tv Housing offer.

Priority housing for accommodation is issued on a first-come-first- serve basis. The deadline for request priority is outlined in the 鈥淒isability Accommodations鈥� form of your 吃瓜tv Status Page. While late requests for accommodations may be submitted, such requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and it is less likely that the university will be able to grant them as there will be limited availability following the first round of housing assignments.
