When LloydDeLamaterestablished the American College in Parisin 1962, he sought to bridge the gap of narrow nationalisms, creating an institution that would educate those ready to explore a world far beyond their birthplace.泭Today, it is that same vision that propels a new generation.純
In the spring of 2020, the world wasshakenby the Black Lives Mattermovementin response to the murder ofGeorge Floydat the hands ofpolice officers. Images of Floyds murderreignitedthe BLM movementacross the globe aspeople of all backgroundsunited against racism and the unabashed assault皋n浮lack bodies. Black studentsand alumniat 勛圖tvquickly convenedwith faculty, staff and leadershiptoadvocatefor further support ofBlack studentsand alumniat the狹niversity.狼hrough town hallsand open house discussions, manystudents and alumni of colorcame forward with stories of discrimination, feelings of othernessand erasure, and the desire for support, mentorship and communityfromwithin the University.泭
