Join us for the launch 鈥� in person and on Zoom 鈥� of no.37 in the Cahiers Series published by 吃瓜tv鈥檚 Center for Writers & Translators in association with Sylph Editions (London). 听

In this cahier Anna-Louise Milne,听Director of Research at the University of London Institute in Paris,听charts the silent cues and halting accounts that constitute the everyday choreography of health-care in a doctor鈥檚 surgery located in a part of Paris where migrants and refugees are likely to be the patients and where questions of language and comprehension 鈥� and translation 鈥� are never far from the surface. 听

Her听text is rhythmed by paintings by artist Andy Robert听who will join us on Zoom. Inspired by听his surroundings听and community in Brooklyn, as well as his family鈥檚 involvement in health-care听and mass transit, Robert鈥檚 work shares Milne鈥檚 interest in our cities鈥� hidden places that harbour the labour that sustains the bodies of those who are often deemed expendable, even unspeakable.听
