Join us for a celebration of the work of Jhumpa Lahiri, author of no.41 in 勛圖tvs Cahiers Series,泭Bone into Stone.
For three years the renowned author and translator Jhumpa Lahiri has been working on translating OvidsMetamorphosesinto English. From among the elements of transformation that have spoken to her directly and intimately she has chosen here to focus on stones. The connotations of stone pose questions of origin and destiny, immobility and unsettledness, living and dying.
Jhumpa Lahiri received the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 forInterpreter of Maladies, her debut story collection. She is the author ofThe Namesake,泭Unaccustomed Earth,泭The Lowland,泭Translating Myself and Others, andIn Altre Parole泭(In Other Words).
